Jmac:
'The
Darkest Hour', while corrupted by annoying characters like Skylar and
whomever the blond Australian was, was actually a pretty good human
survival movie.
Set
in Moscow, ‘wave energy’ aliens invade Earth for its natural resources,
just like every other aliens invading Earth movie to date. The
difference here is that instead of being able to see the alien horde
that overruns our borders; 'The Darkest Hour' aliens are invisible
except when in contact with an electronic device which adds a small
level of suspense to the movie. In the end it is set up for what could
have been a decent squeal for those among us that like post-apocalyptic
alien invasion movies, where Earth understands its enemy and starts to
fight back, (think Independence Day 2), but the movie didn't make enough
in the box office to warrant another film.
That
said I give it a 2.7 light guns out of 5 and what we should all be
taking away from it is American-Russian cooperation, which should be
applied to an American-Euro-Russian missile defense shield...... which
coincidentally would have helped in this movie.I know its a short post but Im really just blowing through old Facebook movie reviews, and there really is not much more to say.
