Last Stand

Jmac:

Well this should have just been one really long Chevy commercial. The super car the bad guy is driving takes a load of damage near the end and barely has anything wrong with it.

As far a Schwarzenegger movies go, this is worse than his older flicks, and even worse than Expendables 2. There was plenty of action, but the type of cheap silly action that only a WWE fan can love... or is it NWA now, I don't know. The Governator himself wasn't all that bad, more his typical Ill be back self, just with less muscle... but I'm not saying he looked bad, just older.

The plot centers around a Mexi cartel kingpin that has a lot of help escaping from prison, and then makes a run for the border down interstate 95 in what is to be believed as the fastest car in the world... like I said Chevy commercial. What doesn't make sense is that they say the car is faster than a helo, but I guarantee that if a Mexi cartel boss escaped federal custody you could have Longbow Apaches after him along over Arizona in a heartbeat. So while the movie is not believable in the least, I guess its ok for a bad action flick.

Another thing the movie could be is an NRA advertisement, because even granny is packing and taking names in this one.

Johnny Knoxville is really the best part of the movie. Hes funny just like he always is and for a movie that shouldn't be taken seriously, he plays his role perfectly.

Also while Ive heard that Forest Whitaker is a nice guy he always plays a vindictive, stupid, jerk;.... I cant help but be lead to the conclusion that he may not be that nice. I dont dislike him, but even as far back as 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High' which was one of his most friendly roles, he was still very angry.

I'm not sure I would really recommend this one to anyone, but if you really like the actors in it then I guess its watchable. I myself was half heartedly watching and texting most of the time, and for someone that LOVES movies, that really doesn't say a lot for the film.

I give it 2.3 cliched lines out of 5.
